Geese

We have a variety of pairs of cross bred geese that we have acquired in our efforts to find some West of England Geese.  So we have several pairs of cross bred grey geese who lay lots of eggs and are all wonderful parents.  These are for sale to a good home.  They are also generally non aggressive except at nesting time – no biting just a bit of hissing and feather rattling !

This medium sized breed are also on the RBST poultry Breeds at Risk list.  It seems some were originally taken to America by the Pilgim Fathers.  Westies are the only breed, (along with the Pilgrim goose breed that is descended from WOEs) that can be sexed at hatching.  The boys are white and the girls have prominant grey markings – usually head, wings and trousers.
